No More Mummy Face

A little over a year ago, I bemoaned my awful skin. I eventually bought a Clarisonic Brush and McKenzie suggested that I use Cetaphil with it instead of the expensive face wash that was recommended. I used the brush, but I didn’t buy the Cetaphil. It worked pretty well, but wasn’t some kind of major $200 worth of improvement.

Eventually, I went back to the dermatologist and told her about my serious life-altering skincare problems. She advised me that the cleanser I used was way too harsh to be pulverizing my skin with and suggested using Cetaphil instead. Since then, I’ve learned that Cetaphil products are recommended by dermatologists more than any other brand. Like more than 90% of dermatologists recommend it. Who knew? I was always hesitant to actually try Cetaphil products because I thought they were too gentle for my skin. My skin is oily; therefore it must require some sort of super toxic cleanser that would attack my pores with Spartan power. As it turns out, that extra Spartan power was not helping the situation at all.

Anyway, she explained that although it seemed counterintuitive, drying out my skin actually caused it to produce more oil which exacerbated the oily problem. Therefore, I should cleanse with something gentle that would not strip the skin of the good oils, and then follow it up with a moisturizer. That made no sense. I wanted my face to be a desert, devoid of all moisture. I then got into further trouble for admitting that I did not wear any products that contained sunscreen. In my defense, all of my SPF experiences ended with one result: sunscreen = clogged pores = breakouts. She then asked me if my goal was to look like this in 30 years:

(source)

Most certainly not. So, I begrudgingly headed out to purchase Cetaphil products and moisturizer with SPF. I started with the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15. I was nervous the first week because I didn’t have that immediate dryness and tightness that I normally experience with a new cleanser and associate with product effectiveness. But, after that first week, I noticed a difference in my normally oily skin. While my skin appeared clearer, it was still soft. After an entire month of using the Cetaphil products, I was shocked that my skin responded so well despite the fact that I was putting moisturizer WITH sunscreen on it. It was a very confusing and exciting time for me.

I wash my face several times a day because it must be cleansed the SECOND I get home from work, when I wake up, and after I exercise. The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser did not dry my skin out and left it feeling clean. I found that using the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 helped reduce oiliness throughout the day without that gross filmy feeling that so many moisturizers leave behind. The positive results continued through the summer. That in itself is incredible considering the level of humidity and my pervasive state of sweatiness.

I don’t typically like to do sponsored posts because they aren’t actually things I use or do, but I wanted to do this one with Cetaphil because I have been using their products for about nine months and I have been really happy with the results. Having acne-prone skin as an adult is pretty crappy, so I wanted to share some of the things that have been helping mine clear up and remain less problematic. Cetaphil is also offering a printable coupon for $3 off any two Cetaphil products if you want to try them out.

On top of learning about the great Cetaphil products I am using, you can also win a $100 Visa gift card by leaving a comment below answering the following question: Of all the skin care products you own, which one could you not live without?

  1. I love cetaphil, and ty for the coupon..I have been using their moisturizer on my face for years!

  2. Katie J

Ahh — I can’t live without Cetaphil either. I have been using well over a decade now and can’t imagine using anything else. It’s the best.

  3. Megan V.

I could not live without my moisturizer! I feel lost if I can’t use it after I wash my face. Thanks for the coupon!

  4. Melanie

    Oil of Olay daily moisturizer

  5. Coree

I’m only 27, but I could not live without my night time eye cream. I’m terrified of crow’s feet!

Seriously though, I’m a sucker for a review, so I’ll buy Cetaphil the next time I’m at Target.

  6. Dina

I can honestly say there is no product I aboslutely love, I’d love to find one. I may have to give this a try since it comes with a recommendation.

  7. suzanne

I have been using Cetaphil for a loooong time. I think it’s why I don’t have teenager level zits at the ripe old age of 32.
The Cetaphil with sunscreen is the absolute best. I also use the big pump o’ moisurizer every morning.
However, the one beauty product I cannot live without is mascara because I have blonde, seemingly invisible lashes without it.

  8. Bittany

I actually bought someCetaphil recently but haven’t been using it exclusively – like you, I assumed it wasn’t strong enough to take care of my oily, evil skin! Maybe I’ll give it a better shot. My skin is so horomonal, it’ll be fantastic for a week and then like a 13-year-old the next ugh.

Of all the skincare products I own the one I couldn’t live without would be my No. 9 facial wipes which you can buy at Target – they take all the makeup off my face WITHOUT making me breakout. They’re fantastic.

    • Amber

This! My skin is literally great one day, crazy the next! I may try Cetaphil but am a little skeptical it works that great since its a sponsored post. :/ but it does sound like many people have had success with it.

      • Reese's Runner

Obviously you don’t have to believe me, but I applied to do this post because I have been using it since the beginning of the year and I have noticed a significant improvement. I had the same problems, some days awesome and some days a train wreck. Now, I stay clear for the majority of the month (except for that one awful week, then all bets are off). Anyway, I’ve really noticed a difference and I think it’s worth a shot. I also like it because it is much cheaper than what I used before.

      • It does! I’ve been using it almost constantly for 15 years. The few times I ran out and used something else are the few times my skin went crazy. It feels like nothing’s really happening, but something IS!

  9. Leah

I have to say my Clarisonic brush. I wasn’t too impressed at first, but after using it for a couple of months, my skin is so much softer and I get way less breakouts.

  10. Sarah B.

I used to use these Biore face wipes because they are great for taking make-up off. They are a bit on the pricey side so I stopped using them, but now my skin is a disaster. I never realized they were good for my skin! I definitely need to buy them again ASAP. I’ve been hearing a lot about Cetaphil though and would LOVE to try it out. My skin varies so much, so this sounds great.

  11. Abbie

Couldn’t live without my pur makeup. First one I’ve found w/great coverage, not cakey, and doesn’t break me out!

  12. Martha

I really like the Aveeno line of products, particularly their standard moisturizer. In fact, I’ve been using that moisturizer exclusively for over 10 years!

  13. Ananda B.

My one product that I cannot live without is Bare Minerals powder. I never used to wear foundation because I hate the feel and look but once I discovered Bare Minerals I get the benefit of good coverage without feeling caked on. I will have to print that coupon and try the Cetaphil… Do you still use the Clarasonic brush and like it?

    • Reese's Runner

I use it every night! I used to use it twice a day, but that was overkill. I like it a lot and the longer I use it the better my skin seems to be.

  14. D

sadly it’s my oil blotting sheets!

  15. I don’t know what this says about me, but there’s not a single product I couldn’t do without. I’m a minimalist when it comes to beauty crap.

  16. Jenna

Interesting…I think I will need to try Cetaphil. On a daily basis, I always use a light moisturizer WITH SPF, as well as an eye cream at night.

  17. I have very sensitive skin and have been using both the Cetaphil products pictured above for a long time- the Gentle Skin Cleanser and the Daily Facial Moisturizer! Great products!

  18. Kaelin

I’m not in love with any product and run from one to the next when ever I feel like it. I always wash my face and brush my teeth, but I am not a slave to certain products.

    • Reese's Runner

Well aren’t you a lucky jerk. I’m kidding, you aren’t a jerk, but I kind of hate you for having skin that adapts and behaves.

  19. Meredith B.

I actually started using Cetaphil about a year ago as well, and my skin has gotten so much better! I use the cleanser and then lotion right after, as well. I thought it was totally counter intuitive, but it actually works. I couldn’t live without either of these products!

  20. I recently tried Cetaphil and am happy with it so far!

  21. Rebecca

Coincidentally enough, my all time favorite and most reliable product is Cetaphil face wash. I can’t live without it!

  22. emily

spot treatment. no matter how many cleansers and moisturizers i try, i always have a few blemishes on my face that won’t disappear. spot treatment is the only thing i can use that will actually have an effect. except for now i think i might try out cetaphil! thanks!

    • Reese's Runner

I still have to do the occasional spot treatment too, I mean it’s not a fix-all for me. But, I do have significantly less spots to fix and that is a win for me!

  23. Valerie

Love my Cetaphil Moisturizer! Thanks for hosting!

  24. Cetaphil lotion is a must for me and my family, especially in the summer when the kids spend lots of time in the sun and water. It’s the only lotion that doesn’t sting.

  25. Julie W

I also found that Cetaphil works great! But I use the daily faical wash instead. It cleans a tad bit more for me. I haven’t tried the moisturizer though, because I couldn’t live without my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It makes my oily skin feel so soft and doesn’t make me greasy or oily.

  26. Carly D

I used to use Cetaphil and loved it for many years. Then my skin changed, because I am officially beyond my twenties, and I had to make some changes because Cetephil was leaving me a bit too moisturized. I use Clinique now, and am supper happy with it. I think maybe I couldn’t live without the moisturizer.

  27. Erin

any face wash that smells great and removes makeup will do…im not picky

  28. adriana

I cannot live with St. Ives Apricot Scrub!

    Adriana

  29. I am currently trying to find a better cleanser, hopeufully one that doesn’t contain Benzoyl Peroxide. Now I want to try this stuff!

    • Reese's Runner

I HATE cleanser with BP because it bleaches everything. So frustrating. Thankfully, Cetaphil doesn’t have it in there!

  30. Cleanser….I need more than just water on my face. I’d rather have that than mositurizer but good thing we don’t really have to choose!

  31. pd

Cetaphil cleanser is my “can’t live without it” product.
My skin is sensitive and acne-prone (although very clear if I don’t piss it off with the wrong products), and every time I try switching to a snazzier sexier cleanser, I regret it.

  32. Sandi

I can’t live without my Clarisonic brush! I didn’t bring it to Las Vegas on my last trip and holy moly what a difference!

    • Reese's Runner

I forgot mine over Thanksgiving and oh the horror. Yikes, never again. I was thinking of leaving it at home when I go to India, but definitely not now!

  33. Breakouts have never been a problem for me but I started using Neutrogena’s Redness Smoothing Oil-Free Acne Wash and Cetaphil’s moisturizer at the same time and my skin has been pretty radiant ever since. Since I started them together, I don’t know which is the miracle worker though! I did try to switch to the Cetaphil’s SPF moisturizer, but it got in my eye and I was late for work because I couldn’t open my eye it stung so bad! I stick to the regular stuff now!

  34. Kara

I could not live without facial moisturizer, specifically Target’s version of Oil of Olay! If I were stuck on a desert island, I would want my moisturizer more than any other thing except for maybe Ryan Gosling. And if Ryan Gosling is there, then I would like to swap my moisturizer for some toothpaste, please. Thank you for hosting!

  35. Christy

I’m looking for a new moisturizer! I use a neutragena moisterizer w/ spf 15, but I think I need to try something new. Great suggestion! Also, I can’t live without the Clinique All About Eyes cream. I’ve tried cheaper brands but none are as a great.

  36. Sarah

I was literally thinking just yesterday about switching from Burt’s Bees to Cetaphil (because Costco has it in en mass).

I could not live without my Clarisonic. Knowing how poorly I clean my skin without it makes me itchy.

  37. Jess

I couldn’t live without face moisturizer and actually use Cetaphil!

  38. Chandy

    I like the arbonne moisturizer

  39. i am a cetaphil user as well! but i like my jergens tinter moisturizer so i dont look like an albino (no offense to albinos) in the winter time.

  40. Rebecca Heiman

Coconut oil. To wash, to moisturize. Love.

  41. Elizabeth

I love St. Ives gentle scrub. It doesn’t dry out my face and lets me exfoliate without scrubing all the moisture off my face

  42. Julia

I just use basic Neutrogena face lotion, but I’d love to try a new one.

  43. Keegan

I love any moisturizer that leaves my face soft and smooth and not greasy.

  44. Candice

I use Cetaphil too. Also use Olay moisturizer SPF 30.

  45. My husband loves Cetaphil. He has dry hands but hates how lotion feels, and Cetaphil does not leave his hands feeling all greasy. I love my Yes to Blueberries Daily Cleanser. :) I will have to try the Cetaphil moisturizer though. :)

  46. Mel

I think I’ve noticed the skin on my face changing as I’ve gotten older – I used to have really dry skin but now it’s almost oily. So strange, still learning how to manage.

I’m a big fan of oily of olay face wash, BBB cream for tinted moisturizer and spf chap stick!

  47. Newlyweds on a Budget

I love cetaphil. I used to buy like christian dior facewash, and seriously, what the f does christian dior know about FACEWASH?!

cetaphil it is, the giant tubs of costco get me.,

  48. meredith

i looove rx systems facewash. I started using their line several years ago & love it. When i run out of one of theirproducts i botice a diff. Ive heard a lot of good about cetaphil so i may give it a try.

  49. Megan

i love organic wear tinted moisturizer

  50. Kalynn

I’ve been cleansing my face with an olive oil mixture and noticed big changes!

  51. Love this! I need to try this stuff.. I’m having horrible face/skin issues lately and am actually going to the dermatologist to be put on a strong medication tomorrow. Think I’m going to buy this, too!

And I love my stilla makeup products. It’s not a cleanser, but it helps me hide my issues which I love!

  52. Erin

Cetaphil is great, but I always go back to my classic Neutrogena face wash.

  53. Debra C

    Love Cetaphil!

  54. Jean

I can not live without my Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer with SPF.

  55. Bridget

Definitely can’t live without my daily oil-free moisturizer with SPF.

Also, Cely, does the Cetaphil brand moisturizer with SPF smell like sunscreen to you? I personally hate that scent unless I’m at the beach…thoughts?? Thanks!

    • Reese's Runner

It doesn’t to me. It was honestly one of the first things I noticed about it because I hate that smell as well. I would definitely smell it before you buy it to be sure.

  56. Hayley

i use cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer multiple times daily. I, like you, seem to wash my face about 5 times a day. when i shower i wash my face first, then after every other thing i do. for some reason i think if my hair conditioner or something drips on my face i’ll break out so i MUST WASH my face again afterwards hah

  57. Since my skin isn’t very sensitive, the only thing I can’t live without is some type of moisturizer. Right now, I use St. Ives facial location with Collagen. In a pinch, I’ll use my Jergens or Vasoline hand lotion.

But, I just might give Cetaphil a try. I’m in need of some new face lotion.

  58. Julie

I’m a pretty big supporter of the Philosophy line…I don’t know if it’s the best thing ever, but it works for me so I’m not trying to screw with it, haha.

  59. I’ve been using Cetaphil since I was a wee one getting pimples in 9th grade, and just yesterday I bought the bf Cetaphil lotion. He asked me to get him Vaseline to use. Um no. That’s gross and I’m not kissing you with your face covered in dead dino oil. I’m happy I’ve helped him come to the dermatologist’s light and I’m glad your skin is happy!

  60. Meesh

I’m obsessed with Cetaphil daily cleanser and my mac foundation. One keeps my skin from breaking out and the other covers up the occasional zit or two. It’s a dynamic-duo type deal for me.

  61. Emily

I could not live without my coconut oil. I use a dab on my face for an evening moisturizer and also as an after-shower moisturizer for my whole body!

  62. I couldn’t live without my moisturizer! My skin feels dry 5 mins after washing with even the most gentle cleanser, so I run right to my moisturizer!!

  63. Christine

I rely on a good, simple face lotion like Cetaphil and toner at night (since I’m lazy).

  64. Laura

I love philosophy primer. Also, I have used a combo of Cetaphil and Cerave face wash and moisturizers since college, I love them!

  65. Lauren

I couldn’t live without my Neutrogena moisturizer…I’d definitely be willing to give Cetaphil a try though! My mom’s been on my case about switching to that for years anyway haha

  66. caroline

I love DHC Extra Nighttime Moisturizer. I have dry, acne prone skin and I moisturize with this both night and day.

  67. Brandi

I can’t live without my facial cleanser from Philosophy. I wouldn’t mind trying Cetaphil though

  68. Lindsey

I think I would die without my aveeno lotion and my st. ives scrub! After reading the other comments, I’m thinking I need a Clarisonic brush too :)

  69. Emily

I could not live without my night time moisturizer!

  70. As an itchy ashy eczema person, I’ve been using and loving cetaphil for years. Its the best thing ever so that’s what I couldnt live without.

  71. Heather

Hi! I love Dr.Bronners Magic Soap (liquid)! It’s great and not super expensive! I also like Cetaphil Anti-Bacterial bar soap for my body, once or twice a week.

  72. I have heard the same thing. And it sounds like we have similar skin. I happen to have some Cetaphil around here and will give it another go.

    The Kidless Kronicles

  73. I loved ST Ives apricot scrub. I felt like I was scrapping all the oil off. Now that I read your review I am pretty sure I am going to switch over ASAP. Thanks for sharing.

  74. I also tweeted your sweepstakes on the twitter land. I don’t know how to share that I did. I am not that twitter savvy. https://twitter.com/janiceannsnaps

  75. Kelly

I can’t live without CereVe lotion. It’s the only thing that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin

  76. I can live without facial products but I prefer my life to have a little anti aging Wexler eye cream in it. I put it all over my face though.. and chapstick. I’d die without it and I promise to use at least some of my $100.00 gift card on chapstick. Positive energy that my name will be drawn is what I’m going for here.

  77. I LOVE my Clarisonic. My face has cleared up immensely since I started using it. I might have to give Cetaphil a try though!

  78. Maggie

I also need to wash my face multiple times a day. Can’t live without face wash!

  79. Sunscreen. Don’t care what brand as long as it is somewhat sweatproof.

  80. Jennifer L

lately I’ve been using Murad oil-control mattifier with spf… it works really well!

  81. Jessie C.

I couldn’t live with lip balm.

  82. Devon

I could not live without baby oil as eye makeup remover. Need it!

  83. Leah

Clinique acne solutions moisturizer! Love it!

  84. lauren

A gentle cleanser. That’s the only thing I do each day.

  85. Josephine

I use cetaphil once a day and love it so I guess I could live with out it.

  86. Tish

Cely! I used Cetaphil too. At first it seemed like I was just rubbing lotion on my face, now I love it.
AND I use a thin layer of vaseline at night, SPF in morning.

  87. Mami2jcn

I couldn’t do without hand lotion. My hands get so dry during the winter months!

  88. Mami2jcn

    tweet–https://twitter.com/mami2jcn/status/280837700007915520

  89. Hmm. People have been recommending Cetaphil to me for years. Perhaps I should give it a shot.

I could not live without my Clinique 3-step toner. Love it.

  90. Kathryn

I love my clarisonic brush. I need to try cetaphil!

  91. Britt

Couldn’t live without my Trader Joe’s Virtuoso lip balm!

  92. Janette

Have never tried Cetaphil but will need to try their spf 15 moisturizer.

Can’t live without Aveeno unscented body lotion, been using it for years, can’t stand dry skin on my legs!

  93. Cindy

I love my hand cream I use all the time at school – really any brand because my hands get so dry.

  94. Hannah M.

I love the Oil of Olay face wipes (I don’t think that’s the proper name!). I need to cleanse my face every night, and sometimes I’m super lazy or slightly buzzed so those wipes let me get the make-up off quite easily!

  95. Erin

I couldn’t live without moisturizer with SPF!

  96. I use Cetaphil moisturizer but need to use the cleanser as well, apparently!!!

  97. I recommend Cetaphil a lot, although I’m not currently using it. I alternate products to give my skin a break. My current love is Aqua Glycolic, which I special order for myself :) I haven’t had a zit in months (SHOCKER) and my eczema has behaved, too.

  98. Erin

    https://mobile.twitter.com/JonnyCakes1118/status/280852562041790464

Be impressed. I never tweet. Twitter scares me and makes me feel old.

  99. Katie

I am a loyal Cetaphil user as well. I rely on it all year round as an acne prone adult.

  100. Jill

Even though I’m probably 10 years over their target demographic, I couldn’t live without my Clean ‘n Clear dual action moisturizer. I’ve been using that stuff on my face since HS and have never strayed haha! I just love the tingly feeling on my face. However I’m not really sure it works bc I STILL get breakouts like I’m a 9th grader so perhaps I should switch to something non medicated like cetaphil?!

  101. Sarah

    Cetaphil works wonders!

  102. Jessica

I love Hope moisturizer by Philosophy. Its lightweight and leaves my skin feeling so soft! Great use with Cetaphil face wash as they both leave your skin feeling awesome.

  103. mary

    I use clinique lotion everyday

  104. Heather F.

I cannot live w/o Cetaphil moisturizer, it works wonders for my dry skin!

  107. i can’t live without moisturizer! best stuff ever

  108. Julie

Liked your post, I think I need to try this. I usually use Nutrogena on my face.

  109. Jennifer P

I can’t go without my cetaphil moisturizing cream. I started using it on my boys when they were babies. I even registered for it when I was pregnant! (piece of advice-don’t buy the baby stuff that rhymes with Pohnson’s and Pohnson’s. go with cetaphil.) I realized it was just the best on my hands. And elbows. And feet… You get the picture. Now I have it everywhere-car, work, nightstand, bathroom. I love that I can use it on the kids and myself-but mostly myself!

  110. Emily h

I love aquaphor. I live in Colorado and the air is so dry so that this is the only thing that saves me. I have always had awful skin…I may have to give this a try.

  111. jenna u.

I cannot live without moisturizer! I apply a SPF one every morning.

  112. Jason

Does soap count as a skin care product? After reading all of these comments I feel like skin is a lot more complicated than I thought it was.

  113. Lindsey

I cannot live without my Ponds night cream!

  114. sy

I can’t live without a spf15+ moisturizer that’s fragrance free. I like using olay, I wouldn’t say it makes me feel like screaming it’s the best lol. Cetaphil sounds really nice I’d give it a try. Thanks for the review and giveaway.

After all these rave reviews I think I have to try Cetaphil.

  120. Pam

I couldn’t live without my Clarisonic. I use Noxema, but I’m almost out so I’m going to give Cetaphil a try.

  121. I’ve heard great stuff about Cetaphil and would love to try it!!

  122. Rachel

I love Burt’s Bees products – especially their toner. Perhaps I should incorporate some Cetaphil in my life though!

  123. Emily B

I could not live without my topical skin ointment because I get dry, red patches on my face from the cold weather and it’s the ONLY thing that helps!

  124. Alisa

I couldn’t live without my clarisonic (I have oily skin, but use the moisturizing cleanser, which works). Sadly, cetaphil makes my skin break out. I know, freak of nature over here. I recently got a sample of clinique’s gel cream moisturizer that I’m in love with.

  125. Lauren S.

I love my clinique face lotion. All day erry day.

  126. Ali

I couldn’t live without my eye cream-I’m 26 and now is the time to prevent looking 80 when I’m 40. Grad school makes me look/feel old enough now…I need all the help I can get!

I couldn’t live without sunscreen. I use it every day.

  130. Nina

I couldn’t live without moisturizer! My dermatologist recommended Neutrogena but it hasn’t been great, maybe I should try Cetaphil

  131. I couldn’t live without emu oil.

    • Reese's Runner

People actually use emu oil!!! Like 15 or so years ago tons of people in Texas bought emus because they were going to get rich off of emu oil. Except no one bought emu oil and now we have these giant ass scary birds running around when they get out.

      • Yeah, I know it’s kind of a scam since it’s mad expensive and might not even have anything to do with emus for all I know, but it really works for me. And Texas sounds terrifying if it’s full of rogue emus- those things are like little dinosaurs.

    • Sam

I use emu oil too! I love it when my skin gets really dry (like now) and its great if you burn yourself on the oven or curling iron because it prevents it from blistering. My local farmers market has an emu booth with lotion, oil, shampoo, Chapstick and emu meat as well!

  132. Corie

I cannot live without some kind of chapstick. Literally it’s like the world is ending if I don’t have some on me at all times. Clearly I’m not dramatic at all.

  133. Emily H.

I cannot live without Argan oil for nighttime moisture, and also Purpose soap. Another dermo recommended soap that works really well!

  134. Nicole G.

I love love love my cetaphil…it changed my skin completely! Couldn’t live without the gentle cleanser for sure.

  135. Am I buying Cetaphil? Yes, I’m buying Cetaphil.

The product I can’t live without? My way-too-expensive Aveda moisturizer that doesn’t have SPF, costs me all my unborn children (that’s fine) every time I buy it, and doesn’t bring us world peace (like a small $40 bottle of moisturizer should). It does, however, make my skin silky smooth and look like at least $100. Therefore it keeps showing up in my medicine cabinet.

  136. Lisa Rademacher

The one product I couldn’t live without is my Strivectin eye cream. I need to try Cetaphil though because my skin is not responding positively to any other products. I am heading out to get some tomorrow!

  137. Lms52

I could not live without my moisturizer with SPF.

  138. dana

I can’t live without my mascara! Every time I forget it, people ask me if I’m sick.

  139. Been a Cetaphil user my WHOLE LIFE. My mom has used since her 30s and has NO WRINKLES. I’ll have what she’s having (as it were).

They have an amazing sunscreen/moisturizer (75 spf) that I use every single day from April through October. It’s amazing and keeps my face protected from the sun. Love love love!!

  140. Katie

I could not live without . . . Curel for my skin. Or any other lotion that helps with dry skin in winter!! I can’t give up my hot showers, so it’s much needed.

  141. Caitlin

I started using Cetaphil about a month ago and I don’t know what took me so long… my face looks great! I wish I bought this when I was in high school ha

  142. Kat

I used to use Cetaphil a long time ago; I should probably pick some up again!

  143. Rachel

I can’t live without my aveeno calming makeup removing wipes. They are great for sensitive skin.

  144. Sam

I love my purity facial cleanser by philosophy! I also use a clarisonic that I couldn’t live with out. I think I will have to give cetaphil a shot- I have very dry, sensitive skin and my husband has oily, acne prone skin so it might be a good face wash that we could both benefit from. Thanks for the honest review.

    • Reese's Runner

I’ve used the Philosophy cleanser too and I loved it! Sadly, I had to chop it when it came time for difficult budgeting decisions. I also liked the soy cleanser from Fresh, but it was hacked for similar reasons. I’ve had very similar results with the Cetaphil for a significantly less price.

  145. Deanna

I could not live without my under eye anti puff roller. I always wake up with puffy eyes and am in need of help each morning.

  146. Kyra

Oddly, my favorite skin care product is coconut oil (my clarisonic is a close second). I just recently started using it on my face at night and my acne has cleared up and skin has a nice glow!

  147. Ashley

Actually, the Cetaphil cleanser is my go-to product as well. All of the dermatologists I have been to have recommended it and I love that I can use it as many times in a day as I want without suffering from dryness.

  148. Emily

I’ve been using Cetaphil for years and, while my skin is not perfect, I went from being a teenager on Accutane (yes, I know now that it is horrible and will probably contribute to my painful death someday. But as a 15 year old with severe acne, I didn’t care) to having one of my coworkers comment on my “porcelain skin” one day (It’s not. She was sucking up. But still, I’ll take it).

I also can’t live without my Aveda lipgloss in Raspberry Tea….it is the perfect shade of neutral pink for me.

  149. Amy

I cannot live without good, natural butters chap stick. Also, moisturizer. Cannot leave the house without it.

  150. courtney b

i cant live without too faced chocolate bronzer

  151. Megan

I have always thought about trying Cetaphil. I cannot live without my clarisonic!! I just ordered the acne brush and it is amazing (p.s. amazon has them for way cheaper than the department stores!!)

  152. Jaime B

I can’t live without my super cheap, unscented Suave moisturizer. I love that it makes my skin feel soft but not greasy.

  153. Sarah L

I think chapstick is my absolute must have. (Lips are skin, right?)

  154. skittles

    must.have.carmex.

I twitch if none is near me; I did try all the natural, non-petroleum lip balms for a year or so but I just couldn’t give up Carmex. (And now it comes in different flavors…be still my heart.)

  155. I love my St Ives Apricot Scrub. When I feel extra grimy I use it and *poof* beautiful skin.

  156. Chelse

I can’t live without CeraVe moisturizing lotion. I have very dry sensitive skin and its the only thing that helps.

  157. Brandi

Even on (rare) days I don’t wear makeup, I still must use undereye cream/concealer because of my (genetic) dark circles. I am going to give Cetaphil a try for a daily moisterizer since I am on a perpetual hunt for a good one.

  158. Danica

I can’t live without chapstick! Any kind works (except Fresh Sugar Lip treatment which dried out my lips HORRIBLY). I just can’t stand the feeling of dry or chapped lips. Makes me cringe.

  159. I really love my Mary Kay Velocity moisturizer. I have mixed/somewhat oily skin and so I resisted using any moisturizer for a long time, but this is light enough that it doesn’t make my skin feel oily/gross.

  160. CB in Texas

Burt Bee’s Lip Balm!!! The best. I use other lip moisturizing products and Burth Bee’s is always what winds up on my lips when they feel extra dry.

  161. Laura WL

I have really oily, acne-prone skin and have been using Burt’s Bees for awhile now with mixed results. I like the moisturizers bc they aren’t too heavy but I still get breakouts almost every day. And I find that I need a strong cleanser (I like the Neutrogena scrub acne cleanser the best) or the breakouts are much worse. I’ve always been very hesitant about Cetaphil though bc it just seems like a cheap product. I might have to try it out bc my skin just seems to be getting worse (I did accutane years ago but it only helped for a year or 2). I also use the clinique cover up to cover my red spots and I like that it has acne medicine built right into it. I also clay masque every week or so and that seems to really help as well.

  162. Teeny

Face wash… I always feel better after I wash my face.

  163. Lora

Right now my favorite thing is my bb cream.

  164. One thing I couldn’t live without is my True Blue Spa exfoliating scrub and parafin moisturizer. I wasn’t concerned about my hands until I took my engagement photos. Damn they take a lot of ring pictures, and damn I look like I have old lady hands.

  165. Erin

I actually love Cetaphil. I was also using the toughest stuff I could find for my acne prone, oily skin until I was recommended Cetaphil by a dermatologist. I didn’t think it would work because it doesn’t give my face that saran wrap tightness, but it definitely works.

  166. I am currently pregnant and breaking out a lot because of it, so I couldn’t live without my peroxide gel!

    chambanachik at gmail dot com

  167. Melissa R

I always use my moisturizing sunscreen. I have never tried Cetaphil, but I’m going to check it out!

  168. Rachael

I can’t live without makeup removing facial wipes! They’re great when I don’t feel like washing my face right away!

  169. amy pugmire

I couldn’t live without my proactive. I break out too much without it

  170. Diane

I use Dove Facial Cleansing Cloths and moisturize with L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler Daily Moisturizer Day/Night Cream. I’ve used Dove soap on my skin for over 30 years. I am over 50 but so many say I look 10 years younger.

  171. Alise

I can’t live without my Neutrogena moisturizer! I’ve been using it for years and I like that it adds some color to my face in the winter and has sunscreen. I’ve never tried Cetaphil but I have oily skin and will def check it out!

  172. Ang

I have to have my aveeno sensitive skin moisturizer. I have rosacea, and this is the only product I’ve found that doesn’t make it worse. Matter of fact, it’s cleared it up almost completely!

  173. Julia C

Can’t live without my facial moisturizer!

  174. Stacie Yates

I love that Bare Minerals makeup for those rare times when I actually get all made up.

  175. I am a Cetaphil girl, too! Started using it in my earlier thirties when I suddenly broke out with Adult Cystic Acne. Ouch. After soon research, I started using the same two Cetaphil products. They made all the difference in the world! I continue to use them to this day.

  176. Lisa Brown

Can’t live without Tom’s of Maine Olive Oil facial soap bar.
    jslbrown_03 at yahoo dot com

  177. Brandy

    Burt’s Bees lip balm!

  178. Lindsay

Do you use the brush every time you wash your face? My skin has literally exploded in the past like 6 months, and when you’re mid-late 20′s that’s not cute…haha

    • Reese's Runner

I only use it at night. I was using it in the morning also, but that seemed to be too much. I just wash with the Cetaphil in the morning.

  179. ASHLEY

I love mary kay’s day and night time solution. it makes my skin super soft!!!

  180. Shannon B.

I love Bert’s Bees Lip shimmers…keeps my lips moist and has great long lasting colors.

  181. Lindsey

Your blog makes me giggle so much! Thanks for the giveaway !

  182. I’ve always wanted to try it!

  183. Colleen

I love cetaphil and have used it for years!!

  184. Erin D.

I really love Cetaphil. Although there’s a big debate in my family over how to pronounce it. Seat-a-phil? Set-a-phil? These are important distinctions.

  185. Gloria

I’ve never used Cetaphil but I have friends that swear by it, so maybe now’s the time to try it out!

  186. Sara Kent

I haven’t had a chance to try Cetaphil yet, I would LOVE to win!

  187. Erin

I think it’s time to try Cetaphil, since I can’t go a day without a good moisturizer.

  188. Ashlee

I could not live without my cetaphil lotion or facewash! I use them religiously every day

  189. Megan S.

I don’t think I could live without my Oil of Olay moisturizer. It’s for combination skin and has SPF15 which is always great for the face when I forget to put on any sunscreen on my face during the summer!

  190. Tara

I have been using cetaphil for years! Love their moisturizer with spf in it!

  191. Kelly

I have been using Cetaphil for years and love it! But I couldn’t live without Burt’s Bees for my lips. I just moved to Colorado and the dry air is wreaking havoc on my lips and hands!

  192. Lauren

Ooh I would like to win please thank you!!! Also, I hope I’m getting a Clarisonic for Christmas, I’ve been Santa a whole lot of hints!

  193. Caitlin

I love Cetaphil body lotion and soap…I seriously noticed a difference after a day

  194. trisha

I bought the Target brand (because I’m cheap of course) of Cetaphil and hated it. I then ponied up the extra $2 or whatever it was for the real stuff and it’s a whole different ball game. Love it!

  195. Jo from Alaska

I truly do love Cetaphil lotion and use it every day. The item that I absolutely must have with me all day long and cannot live without is my Burt’s Bees Honey lip balm. My lips love it, and I also rub it on my knuckles–brings instant relief for the Alaskan winter dryness. Plus, I can rub it JUST on my knuckles while I’m driving and it doesn’t make the rest of my hands slick like rubbing on a hand cream does.

  196. Amanda F.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway! Love Cetaphil!

  197. Tara F

    Love Cetaphil, its a must.

  198. I love Murads’s Intensive – Vitamin C Radiance Peel! When my skin starts to get dull or rough, I apply this peel and 10 minutes later I have baby smooth skin. Looks even better 6-8 hours later!

  199. Laura

I love Cetaphil and have been meaning to switch back to it for a while now! :)

  200. Tina M

mary kay extra emollient night cream

  201. I couldn’t live without my Simple toner. I bought it after deciding I needed some sort of toner back in my skin-care regime, and I absolutely love it. It’s slightly tingly and doesn’t have a fragrance. Perfect.

  202. Jessica

I cant wait to buy Cetaphil Face Wash and Moisturizer w/ SPF. I hope it will help with my adult acne…ugh

  203. Akemi

Cetaphil cream, actually. If I don’t use it my face gets red and chapped.

  204. my mom got me hooked on Cetaphil. Mother’s know best!

  205. erika thomas

I love Cetaphil. Couldn’t live without it.

  206. Lisa

Thank you for the recommendation! I have been on Cetaphil for a few days, and I love it already!

  207. casey

    i love philosophy’s “hope in a jar”
It’s hella expensive but totally worth it for my sandpaper face!
I use cetaphil or the target alternative to cleanse first tho!

  208. Wild Orchid

I couldn’t live without my lipbalm. My lips get so dry – especially in the winter.

I can’t live without moisturizer…my skin is so dry without it!

  211. Mariea

I absolutely cannot live without moisturizer! I have ridiculously dry skin and have yet to find my miracle product that keeps the flakes away during the winter months.

  212. After your review, I wanted to try it so I bought some a week ago and I can already tell a difference! So now my fingers are crossed to win!

  213. I’m always trying out different products to find the right fit. I’d say toner is my one consistant but still searching for the best face wash & moisturizer for me.

  214. Amanda W

I’m kind of an exfoliation addict, so my Clarisonic will forever be on my “can’t live without it” list.

  215. Lynn

My exfoliating cleanser! It keeps my acne at bay.

  216. All of my prescriptions! I have issues with my scalp and hands and have steroids galore. I would be nowhere without them!

  217. Ashleigh

I can’t live without my Cetaphil and Clarisonic! Goodbye, adult acne!!!

  218. Michelle

I could not live without some sort of facial moisturizer! New England winters are brutal on your skin!

  219. Sarah H

My boyfriend owns every Cetaphil product, I love everything that I’ve stolen from him :)

  220. CM

My Clairsonic. It makes everything better :)

  221. Heather

Love it! My face has somehow become more sensitive over the years and this stuff is the best!

  222. Tara

I use Avon’s Regenerist eye cream (b/c I’m olllllld) and I love it.

  223. Sassy

I’ve been using Cetaphil for about 4 years (I think) now. Like you mentioned, I always had oily, break-out prone skin and thought the answer was harsh cleansers, but Cetaphil has revolutionized my life! I rarely have break-outs and my skin is soft and no longer oily. I’ve even had people comment on my complexion! I would love to win!

  224. Chris Dowling

I always thought the ‘tight’ feeling after using the acne soaps mean its working. I might need to try this!

  225. Sharde

I actually use the Cetaphil moisturizer as well. I have normally oily skin (except for in the winter), and it works really well for me!

  226. Lisa

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is something I could not live without for a while. I have recently switched to Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer for the SPF 15 thanks to your advice, and I love it! Thanks!

  227. Megan

I LOVE this stuff. I use the antibacterial bar soap once a day and use the regular pump soap in the morning and/or evening – waterless method. It took me awhile to find a balance with my face too and this was it!

  228. Rebecca Graham

    I use my sunscreen everyday.

  229. Debra Ford

    cant live without my chapstick

  230. Lauren

I thought I was too good for face wash and didn’t need anything but soap, buuuut I’ll be damned, my skin disagrees and I just switched to that Cetaphil wash and lotion. Cross your fingers it works!

  231. Anne

I’m ashamed to admit that I have no skincare routine. I am obsessed with lipbalm though. Anything will do.

  232. Christina Tong

Of all skin care products I own, I couldn’t live without moisturizer with SPF or my skin would be very dry, I would like to try Cetaphil products after reading your review. Thanks for this review and giveaway.

  233. Sonya Morris

My skin is so dry during this pregnancy that I cannot live without Burt’s Bees Night Cream.

  234. Wanda McHenry

I could not live without my daily body lotion. I use several brands depending on what condition my skin is in at that time.

  235. Debbie B

i couldn’t do without my moisturizer and my eye cream

  236. Eugenie

In the winter I have to have my lip balm handy at all times.

  237. face moisturzier! thanks for the chance to win kmassman gmail

  238. Morgan D

Too funny about wanting to over wash your face, it just can’t feel clean enough. I too was shocked at my first trip to the dermatologist last year when she told me to use Cetophil instead of the expensive stuff I was buying at the salon. My face is MUCH clearer now and I’m saving money. Very nice.

  239. LAMusing

Could not live without my lip balm! My lips get very dry, so I keep balm in my purse and by my bed.

  240. Natalie J Vandenberghe

I use Cetaphil Cleanser and Moisturizer every single day (although I haven’t tried the one with SPF yet), so I don’t think I can name just one skin-care product (I need both!)

  241. Of all the skin care products I own, I cannot live without lotion! My skin will be all too tight and dry. I need rich and creamy lotion in the winter for sure!
    amy [at] utry [dot] it

  242. Dawn S

New user of Cetaphil cleanser and I have to say it is quickly becoming my “can’t live without it” product. I have noticed great results.

  243. Lindsay

Bentonite clay is just volcanic minerals in powder form that suck away the crap my hormonal skin excretes (ew, excretes). It is obviously chemical free, like Cetaphil. Yay!

  244. Jenny

I love rose salve. I use it for everything as a lipgloss, on blemishes, car scratches, as an eye cream before long cold, dry runs (I live in the desert) and on super dry areas. A little bit goes a long way!

  245. Tess

I picked up Cetaphil after this post, and I’m already in love. I swim a few times a week which dries out my skin something awful.

  246. kelly

I couldn’t live without clean and clear moisturizer! I should try Cetaphil, as a swimmer, my skin is SO dry.

  247. Courtney Echols

I have recently discovered Palmer’s Cocoa Butter night cream and I love it! It’s inexpensive, smells good, and makes my skin make me look more well-rested than I am (we have a 5 month old baby that is not quite sleeping through the night!)

  248. Gabrielle

I love this stuff! I often think about trying something new and then when that doesn’t work out I always go back to this.

  249. Jenny

    Love this stuff!

  250. Robin

I would like to try it!

  251. Because of your post, I started using it! It’s great!! Thanks!!

  252. Bri

I also use Cetaphil and could not live without it!

  253. Joanna

I could not live with my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It’s the only thing that makes my skin not so oily in the summer. But I’m desperately looking for something for the winter, still! Apparently I should try Cetaphil!

  254. Megan from corpus

I use cetaphil cleanser for oily skin with my clarisonic and cerave moisturizer with SPF 30. I must say, the brush has made a huge difference in the texture and tone of my skin! Love it.

  255. I usually try whatever random stuff is on sale, but I usually use pond’s lotion after I shower

  256. Pick me! Pick me!!! Also, Cetaphil is great and all-natural! Love it!

  257. Pick me! I use clinique but would love to do a switchover!

  258. Monica

Definitely couldn’t live without Cetaphil moisturizer. Couldn’t find it at my local grocery store last month, and my poor husband was trying to find me moisturizers that were similar. I had a meltdown… “NOTHING is the same as Cetaphil! You can NEVER replace it!” The good news is that it was just in another aisle. *Phew* that was a close one.

  259. Allison

I love my face wash. I have oily skin so I feel like I always need to wash my face. I’m going out to buy some cetaphil now!

  260. Carrie

Okay, after I read this I bought it for my two teenage boys and put it in their Christmas stockings:) Time will tell, but so far so good.

  261. Heather

Definitely my moisturizer! My husband and I both use it, and he swears by Cetaphil soap in the shower (I prefer shower gels, otherwise I’d use it too :)

  262. Sarah

I do like Cetaphil quite a bit. I use it as my shower face wash, but I have really been loving the oil cleansing method lately. The jojoba oil I’ve been using in it makes my skin feel so soft. :)

  263. Katie

My poor skin is freaking out here in South Bend, IN. I am NOT used to this harsh cold, I am but a NW girl and the snow, cold, etc is kicking my skins butt! I need some Cetaphil to save my yucky skin!!!

  264. Kelly

Love Cetaphil moisturizers! Depending on the season, I switch between the lighter and heavier ones. LOVE THEM!

  265. Jen

I am not too happy with any of my skin products right now. I guess I’ll go with oil blotting sheets. It’s time for me to try something new:)

  266. Kerry

I love my Clinique yellow moisturizer.

  267. Kayla A.

Unfortunately, I cannot live without benzol peroxide. I break out so bad cause of my hormones. This is why I need cetaphil!!! Other than that, I def. need concealer and foundation. At all times. I’m loving Bare Minerals right now.

  268. Laura Jacobson

I cant live without a good non irritating moisturizer. I have dry skin and my son has allergies, so I love that the moisturizer is fragrance free.

  269. Betty C

I couldn’t live without my Cetaphil moisturizer. It keeps my skin so soft.

  270. I am already a Cetaphil lovah – I had a similar experience to you late in college so I would actually say Cetaphil Face Wash is what I can’t live without. Although technically sunscreen might beat it because I’ll take zits over cancer.

  271. meredith

I love my eucerine daily moisturizer and my cetaphil wash

  272. Sarah P

I have such a hard time finding a good cleanser and would love to try this!!

Petroleum jelly keeps the skin around my eyes wrinkle free. My grandma taught me this in the 70′s!

  281. Carmen

Lip balm- my lips get so terribly dry this time of year.

  282. Lee

I can’t do without my body lotion especially in the winter.

  283. Melissa

Face moisturizer. Cannot live without it.

  284. Julie

Definitely moisturizer, especially in these WI winters!

  285. I have & like a ton of products, but my Cetaphil face wash is the one I couldn’t do without… everything else is too harsh for my super sensitive skin.

  286. Lauren S.

I have to say I couldn’t live without my clinique oil free eye make up remover and the face lotion. Does wonders!

  287. My rosacea likes to act up with most products and Cetaphil is one of the few that doesn’t leave me looking like I have rubbed sandpaper all over my mug after a good run!

  288. Dianna

I can’t live without Olay face moisturizer. My mom always used it and it works great for my skin too. My niece uses Cetaphil and has had great results. If Cetaphil has something that would help 40 year old skin I would love to give it a try. I am very loyal once I find something that works.

  289. Jamie S.

Ah, I also can’t live without Cetaphil. I’ve been using it since high school when it was recommended to me by a dermatologist. It’s great because it works on back-ne (gross…) too!

  290. Jill

I cannot live without daily moisturizer with SPF. It’s a part of my morning routine, just like brushing my teeth!

  291. HUMIFIFIER!!!! I run it EVERY night in the winter while I sleep. Without it, I get dry itchy skin all over and so does my hubby. Even with every lotion under the sun included, I must have my humidifier to keep supple!

  292. alex

I have been using cetaphil cleanser for years, love it!

I have terrible ezcema and have tried everything under the sun to control it. Finally with combination of cortizone shots and Cetaphil lotion, face wash and body wash, I can keep it some what at bay. I still have terrible flares, but I can now control it within a week. My dematologist recommends Cetaphil and I cannot get my face beautified in the morning without my lather of lotion.

I started using Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types 2 weeks ago after reading this post. I was struggling with adult acne and nothing seemed to be working. In that short time, my skin has gotten much clearer and I have my glow back! So happy.

  299. Cetaphil is the only product I can safely use with my Clarisonic brush and not take off a whole layer of my face/break out like a middle school student the next day.

Since I started running a couple years ago my skin looks worse than in middle school! I would love to get it back in tip top condition. Sounds like this may be the solution.

  302. I can not live without moisturizer! I have the same problem where my skin dries out and overproduces oil, causing breakouts.

  304. I’m here to win the freeness. Sponsored or not, maybe it’s time I give it a try. I seem to have hit a second puberty at the ripe age of 28 and it helps me feel super attractive.

I use the cleanser already and love it. I should be wearing moisturizer with spf on a daily basis but don’t, so I’m seriously considering trying out the cetaphil one. Thanks for the post!

    Thanks for the contest.

  308. McKenzie

Yay! So so so glad you like the Clarisonic! I still swear by Cetaphil- although with my move to the great white North from the warm and humid South I have had to go to their extra moisturizing cream.

  309. Katy

I use Bliss Spa’s “No Zit Sherlock” face wash. It is spendy, but it’s the only thing that I’ve found that gives me the results I want. Well, that and I went to the dermatologist and got some proper face stuff (aka Retin-A).

  310. Sarah

I actually tried the moisturizer because of this post, and so far, I love it. Thanks for posting about it!

I could not live without my clarisonic. It’s the best investment in my skin that I have ever made!

  318. Lauren

Both of my children (2 years old and 5 months old) have eczema. We could not live without the Restoraderm Moisturizer from Cetaphil. It is the only lotion that softens their skin…and I’m not afraid of using it on my baby since it is so gentle.

  319. lita

My doctor actually recommend this for me. The reason I bought it? She uses it herself! I am HOOKED!
